I grew up in the great Pacific Northwest in Vancouver, WA. After high school I spent five years in the US Army as an infantryman attaining the rank of Sergeant and deploying to Afghanistan. After leaving the Army I graduated from the College of Idaho with a BA in history. I am happy to be a member of the Eagle Family at Northeast Middle School.

Exhibit a growth mindset – No matter where you are in your learning you should actively seek opportunities to learn something new.

Engage in active learning – This class will be a lot more fun if you are paying attention to what we are doing and contributing to your own learning and the learning of your peers.

Be willing to learn – Do not actively get in the way of learning, this is one of the most self-destructive things you can do.

Ask for help – Reach out for help, either from your peers or from me.  If I do not know that you need help I cannot help.

Stay on task – The course material is designed to help you learn, sometimes it may not seem inherently relevant to your learning but trust in the process I have designed.  Successful learners push themselves to work through task especially if it is challenging (that is where the most learning occurs).
