My name is Katiea Mallett and I am the 8th Grade Counselor here at Northeast Middle School, home of the Eagles. This is my 2nd year here at NEMS and in the district. I am from a small town in Mississippi, and I have been in TN for 6 years. My husband and I have been married for 15 years and we have 4 wonderful boys: Gori, Zay, Kree, and Braille, and our Yorkie Rollo. I graduated from Alcorn State University and where I received a Bachelors Degree. Next, I went on to graduate school at Mississippi College, where I received a Masters in School Counseling and an Education Specialist Degree w/ a concentration in Mental Health. I have experience as a mental health therapist in the Level 2 and 4 facilities for adjudicated juveniles, and also as a Intensive In-home therapist. I have completed several Applied Behavior Analysis courses (ABA), and I am certified as a LGBTQ+ Specialist. With my variety of experience, I plan to continue to connect with each and every one of my students.
